Trials HD was followed by Trials Evolution in 2012. Each game in the collection is fun and worth a relatively low price, plus if you don’t end up like one, hopefully you’ll like the others. Its sort of a hybrid racing game/physics puzzler with a heavy emphasis on demanding perfection. I do recommend the combo pack with Trials HD, Limbo, and ‘Splosion Man (that is the route I took). At first glance, Trials HD didnt look like my type of game. Trials HD is worth checking out if you are a fan. With some extreme combinations, the creator mode really needs to be played with a lot to get it down in any great measure. As a creator, you can make your own crazy tracks (another thing that reminded me of Excitebike) and share them. The game also has some decent online content. I have a wee theory that has no bases in reality, that games which Microsoft put a lot of promotion into (such as with TrialsHD in 'the summer of arcade') are tied down to at least a 1 year exclusivity deal. Microsoft also has less interest in releasing PC versions of XBox games, so I can't see them being interested in getting RedLynx to port it.įor sales figues, Trials 2 seems to be about 110,000+ while I'm sure Trials HD is around 700,000 - 800,000 (?) in a fraction of the time. There was an interview I saw recently which mentioned that Trials HD came about because Microsoft liked Trials 2 and so stepped in as publisher for the development of Trials HD.
